I have another encore with a walnut stock and it works just fine. No cracks no chips no nothing. The reason I use the Plastic one is it is a Thumbhole..and I really like TH stocks...but I prefer walnut..it surely does look so much nicer..warmer too. LOL!! The walnut stock was shot fairly extensively in 243 25-06 and 7mm Mag(probably 400-450 rounds in the mag)..and no cracks. To be honest it really isn't a pleasant caliber to shoot in the Encore either. I think the 25-06 bbl and the 7mm Mag bbls are going to get sold. I have Kimbers to shoot in the 25-06 and a 300 Win Mag..which out does the 7mm in my opinion.
