An old S&W Model 27 .357 six-inch revolver

By a series of happy events I ended up owning a mint, old blue 6-inch Model 27 S&W .357 revolver. I am again reminded why I prefer OLD Colt automatics and OLD S&W handguns. The quality, fit and finish of the old guns will not be seen again.

My M27 likes my .38 Special wadcutter target loads, the cast .357 handloads and my hot jacketed .357 loads. My first LEO handgun was a M28 S&W 4-inch when I was a Texas lawman. I still have that M28, but compared to the highly polished M27, it is obvious that extra effort was put into the M27. It is sad to realize the revolver is going off into the sunset so to speak in view of the current flock of "plastic" semi auto pistols.

My Pastor advised me not to fret about old age because "it does not last too long." I find it sad the same may be said for finely fitted and finished revolvers in the 21st Century.
