				Some advise please

I'm gonna put a scope on my mauser.

It will be mounted on the rear sight. I think I'm looking for a long eye relief pistol scope but thats about all I know. There sure seem to be a lot of red dots out there.Do I want one? I wear glasses and have a touch of cataracts but the eye doctor said it is so minor he wouldn't even diagnose it. So watdaya guys think? |

If you put a good quality red-dot on, and not a cheapie you should be fine. But the red dots, I think, don't really magnify. I know the soho's don't

But under any circumstance, I need magnification, because with my wimpy eyes I can't even see a 6" ring through a peep sight at 100 meters. What exactly do you plan to use the old 98er for? (assuming it is a 98 )

Its a small ring 7mm. It'll be used on coyotes. I bought it many years ago. Its a partially sporterized spanish 96 I think. The coyotes around here are getting pretty bold and the dogs barking all night every night is getting to be too much. I have my homemade ghillie siut ready and now need the scope and warmer weather,I've turned into a wimp, and I'll be able to try calling. I don't know of anyone around here that calls.Definately something different for me. |
