Tater,
For an all around scope the 3 X 9 powers is about as good as you can do. For quality Leupold is the best for the money, at least in my openion. I got my first Leupold scope in 1968, yea I`m an old guy, and over the year have managed to put Leupolds on everything. I have owned some of about everything, but Leupold is the only brand I have not had trouble with and I now own over 30 Leupold scopes. Most are 3 x 9 Vari Xll, old style. I have a 24X that I use mostly for load development and a 36X that is on a .22 PPC that I use for off hand competition. I have them on rifles, handguns and shotguns. There are better scopes on the market, but I can`t afford them.
