I think the Teacher should have seriously handled the situation differently. Maybe she could have verified that the kid was talking to his mother in Iraq. I know that cellphones are not permitted in school and I think that teenagers should really have a need for a cellphone. However If the kid was telling the truth and his Mom was in Iraq and that is who he was talking to then I think there should be some previsions made to allow it. COMMON SENSE, exceptions to every rule and all those cliche's.

I also however agree that the kid could have been a little more respectable and offered the teacher a minute on the phone to talk to his mother and verify that is indeed what was going on.

Kids now a days are disrespectful because the parents are disrespectful.
I am really hoping to move out to Montana BEFORE my sone gets into Highschool. He is a good kid right now and I want to keep him that way and some of the schools out in MT are still the "old skewl" way. One school from grade 1-12 and there are only a few hundred kids in each school.

Sounds like the kind of education I want my son to have. It is those kind of schools that also enforce use of common sense.
