here in kaliphornia, we're near the $3.00 per gallon mark already and have been for a while.

i saw an interview with an oil corp CEO on the fox news "business" segment recently and he openly said "don't be surprised to see gasoline at $3.00 per gallon before the end of the year."

i believe what was said earlier in this thread ... that $5.00 per gallon is the oil industries goal ...

i also heard the CEO of mobil (?) in an interview say "we are entitled to a profit" ... that profit was something over $11 billion if i remember what he said correctly.

of course it will afffect the ecomomy but that's not all bad when you think about it ... it has already begun to slow down the building and developing here in the rural area where i live. that $3.00 per gallon is being passed onto the consumer and the consumer is reaching the point of "sorry, can't afford it ..." we're now seeing the $500,000.00 houses sit vacant ...

i know for a fact, the high cost of fuel has affected MY 'economy'.
