Sound like small deer...but good thing you got 'em. I find it unsafe and unethical to shoot at a running deer, and it is a disappointment to hear of youth taking these kinds of shots. It's nothing to boast about. Such shots can lead to a bad shot placement and are therefore unethical to shoot. Shooting at running targets is dangerous in the idea that you can't pay attention to what is behind the target, and may miss only to see the blaze orange behind that "other tree" after you pulled the trigger. Keep it safe and keep it ethical, so everyone enjoying this sport can have a good time.
