Billy, To answer your question no I am not a gunsmith and the maker of the barrel is ER Shaw , its a heavy sporter weight barrel 26 " in length. I did the stock work, but had a gunsmith fit the barrel to the reciever replacing the stock Ruger 30-06 barrel. No ground hog is safe now !!!
