That book came out at 300,000 words, which everyone tells me is WAY too long for a first book. I'm trying to cut it down to half that, but trimming it is like selling off some of one's children.

I know it's much more easily said than done, but have you considered dividing it into two books, the highly acclaimed first novel and the eagerly awaited sequel?

Whatever the outcome, I'll gladly pay coin of the realm for the final result. Just hope I can get an autographed copy.
