I wish I had hunting buddies that were interested in calling. I even gave a friend of mine a goose flute because he showed some interest, but that flute, along with his shotgun, are collecting dust. I do a lot of hunting with my dad, and he has almost no desire to learn how to call. He talks about it once in a while, but he just never picks up the call. I might just buy him a flute for his birthday so that he can practice in the car during the off season.

You are lucky to have a buddy that is so interested in hunting. Hopefully, he will continue to be interested even after some bad days. If he is big into fishing, he will completely understand that it isn't Christmas every day you are out on the water or in the field.

You and I should try to get together sometime next season. I'm going to buy a trailer during the off season, so I should be able to travel almost anywhere with all my gear. That would make for a pretty fun hunt, and you are more than welcome to come down here and hunt with me, but I know how the money situation can be when you are just getting out of school.
