there was a lot of birds in certain areas to be for sure. i hunted north of pierre sd and i was on private land and we limited out in 2.5 hrs (11 people). however, we saw a ton of birds on public ground in the area, and most people we talked to that were hunting it had birds, and got a lot of shooting in.

just driving on the way back to pierre we could of gotten 5 or 6 roosters just road hunting. maybe it was just one of those days they were out and about.
