Andy, just like Rubicon said, they stock alot of small stream, mademade lakes and rivers, however, there was a bill to close trout fishing year round, with Jan-Feb. March to be used as stocking, with April -Dec31, Trout season, that would be great but I haven't seen anything since, it was probably shot down.
Hatchey Trout needs to be in fresh cold water for a week or two to firm up, first stock trout seems mushy. Also I like to get out and walk a stream while I can still do so, in yeats to come I might have to park the truck and crawl down over the bank, as I get older But right now I'd rather walk a while and get away from the crowds Each year I buy my hunting and fishing license, past two years didn't go trout , haven't trout fished any this year, might go native fishing in couple weeks & ramp hunting.
