is there a 222 rem barrel out there for contender

Scooterman, If you need a 100-150 yard carbine, you could be very happy indeed with ANY of: 22 Hornet, 218 Bee, 221 Fireball, 222 Rem or even oddities like the 219 Zipper. I happen to have all of those, but the only carbine is the Fireball.

I'm about to sell the 219 Zipper, but it isn't a carbine. It's a 14".

The Hornet barrel re-chambered is actually a bad idea. The twist rate is only 1-16" in the Hornet, and that wouldn't work well at all for the 222 unless you were willing to stick to 40-45 grain bullets.
