I can see where you might get a small boost in velosity from a muzzle brake, but it would be so small that it would be hard to measure. If you were to thread the end of your barrel and screw on a muzzle brake it would make your barrel longer and even if it was letting off gass it would still give the bullet alittle more push. Weather or not you would get enough more velosity it could be measured would be the question, I would guess that it would, but am guessing that it would be far less than 100 fps.
