McPat,

I'll agree with you. There was hardly any pressure on Manning, and the one time they did put some pressure on him, which I thought was going to be a sack, he threw a touchdown to Reggie Wayne on a blown coverage. That cost the Bears 7, but there is no saying that the Colts wouldn't have continued to drive down the field, even if Manning was sacked on that play, and score 7. Same goes for the interception that Grossman threw for a touchdown. Even if it hadn't resulted in a return for a touchdown, there is no saying that Peyton wouldn't have been able to march right down the field and score 7.

Yep, the Bears stunk all the way around. The play calling should have been more of the short throw variety where Grossman would have had less of a chance of being picked.

The Bears couldn't stop the run either. I think Rhodes was able to run the ball in rather easily from the 3 or 4 yard line.

I think the Bears were doing to Super Bowl shuffle one night too early and way too late into the night. I really thought the bad weather was going to help the Bears with the turnovers, but it seemed like it helped the Colts more. Also, Grossman putting the ball on the ground twice and stopping drives by doing so in the second half didn't help anything. I think he did something like that when it was 2nd and 1 near midfield and he took an 8 or 10 yard loss that resulted in a punt. The first time he did it, I think he gave the Colts the ball on the Bears' 35 yard line.

In the end, the entire Bears team screwed up, but I think Grossman's screwupS had a lot more effect on the game. One guy had a blown coverage, but that was the only one. Yeah, the defense was missing tackles. However, Grossman threw 3 interceptions and put the ball on the ground twice. That really reminds me of the Arizona game and the other game he played horrible in, but the defense was able to save him on both occassions. The one time he played terrible and the defense didn't play great, you see what you got. The Ravens won the Super Bowl because Trent Dilfer, a no name quarterback, played smart and didn't turn the ball over. That is why I blame Grossman for most of the loss. The offense cannot continue to screw up all night long and hope that the defense pulls them out of it.

In the end, I will agree with you that the entire Bears team played terrible, but how would you like to be the Bears defense and have the offense put you in so many terrible spots? That had to be demoralizing.
