Since you went to nite vision I`ll relate my expreance with it. I have a 1 st. gen Russian rifle scope. With alot of moon it`s good to abt. 100 yrds. With full moon and no snow I can see acouple 100 yrds., but focus and clearity are not good. I have a friend with a 3 rd. gen. AMT and it`s a whole other world. His 1.5 lense when bad so he is useing his 4X lense now, which cuts the lite by abt. 1/4. Even then the 3 rd. gen. is 10 times better in all areas than the first gen. BUT, it cost abt. 10 times as much too. The one thing I can tell you abt. nite vision is that you get what you pay for.
