i am wanting to put a leupold handgun scope on my 500. wondering if any of you have much experience with them, what your preferences are and why. thank you. looking at fx11 2 power or vx111 2.5x8 variable. leaning towards 2 power cause of field of view. |

				handgun scope

With this hand cannon you could use the variable but I have Leupold and Burris fixed powers on my handguns. I would either go with a Leupold 2 power or 4 power fixed. I like the field of view with the 2x and I suspect the main use for this gun will be hunting. Go with the 2x

Btw you will need a rugged scope and the Leupolds usually hold up well.

				fixed 4 power

well i looked thru them all including some military red dots, and decided on a fixed 4 power leupy. i can dial in a little better at a hundred yards with it than the 2 power of course.

If want to have it all, both the best in hunting and the best for the range get a 2 1/2 x 8 Leupold. If you just want the best hunting scope get a 2X Leupold. The 2X will give you a good point of aim on deer size game farther than you can guess the hold over. If you whant to hunt from a stand with a rest and range finder the 2 1/2 x 8 would do alittle better.
