Patterns
Actually Ed the pattern is essentially the same size(roughly) in almost all the guages except the 410...just a little thinner. In the 20 it really doesn't make too much difference compared to the 12. The 28 a bit less so. Usually the chokes on the 28 are tightened a little so you have to point just a LITTLE closer. The 410 is another world unto itself. A skeet choke in the 410 can be as much as .012(averages.007-.008) where in the 12 it is usually .002 to .004. My old M-42 Win Skeet gun has a skeet choke of .013. The Briley chokes are usually a little looser that the norm as they have a fairly long parallell section. Briley chokes are usually very uniform and fairly dense for the constriction because of that reason. My K-80 12 barrels are Briley choked although I have never shot them if I remember correctly. The tubes are Briley's and are of course Briley choked. I have a pair of Briley 410 choke tubes for those tubes that are choked(I think) .012...and ol boy...if ya can point them right will absolutely smoke a clay target..even at 35 yds which is a very long shot for the 410 skeet load. I have at least 50 different Briley chokes that I have accumulated over the years. Have a couple of Briley choked 1100 bbls as well as a standard weight 1100 20 ga bbl I picked up for skeet shooting. Even my Beretta gas guns have Briley chokes. The benelli M-1 Super 90 I just picked up had a couple of riley chokes with it. Like I needed another Menelli but the chokes were a major selling point. I'm a sucker for decent semi auto's
