My heart and utmost respect and thanks go out to the vet his family and those who served with him and to honor him at his funeral.
I stopped what i was doing for a moment looked at my puter looked around the room and thought about my life what i have and my wife and kids and took a moment to salute and thank him for his part in giving me the ability to have what i do. I was peacetime 101st so i get mixed feelings at times around nam vets and my father 82nd (korea) we share some things and then i can never know what they carry every day. some days i am glad i never saw combat other days i feel i missed a part of what it is to really serve. I was wondering if the VFW was doing more to reach out to the new generation of vets returning seems to me there is a whole new member base just coming home???
