Just something to add from what you said,

I'm in PA, Snares are only Legal for Beavers, We can only use Cable Restraints for Fox and Coyotes and they are totally different then snares and only have a short season!

also, your comment about walking, Heck, I thought we were trappers and not Road Trappers? Trappers are supposed to walk their location and check, not run it with a motorized vehicle !
