I cast many rifle and pistol bullets, but casting shot never entered my mind. What is to be gained by casting shot?
If the panic buying that has hit the centerfire rifle and pistol world (due to the current political administration, which has said it will ban CCW, assault weapons, ect) hits the shotgunners, you may have trouble finding shot. The only bullets I can get for my pistols & rifles right now are those that I cast myself! Also, lead shot shot up from $14/25lb bag to over $50/25lbs a bag in the course of a year due to the demand from China, leaving many of us without a means to reload our shells.

Adam....it's kinda like making fire with flint and steel or doing your own food canning or bullet casting: it may be labor intensive, and you might be able to get it cheaper or easier, but it NEVER hurts to know how to do it before the need arises!

For those who might be interested in obtaining a copy, here is a link to the publication:

It's a pretty good publication; I pick up a copy from the news stand from time to time.
