looking for 22-250 advice

"22-250 target-custom varmit gun Mauser bolt action single shot
7 boxes of rounds hard case,heavy barrel very accurate at 500 yards, scoped. Very few rounds through it. Need to sell for the money"

I know some of the basics on what to look for in a used firearm, but not any real specifics or tricks of the trade. I'm more in the market for a gun for dogs etc than a bench gun. But I figured since his asking price was about the same as the new Savage I was looking for, it was worth investigating. He send a number of photos, including close up of crown etc
