I am always glad to share loading data. It sounds like you have a Rounball barrel. I would try 75 grains of 3F and .015 patches. If your .018 works ok, stick with that and try 75 grains since you already tried 80 and 85 grain charges. I use 3F in two of my .54 guns while another likes 75 grains of 2F and patched ball. I had to throttle her back a little. 80 and 85 grains of 3F was tear'n the patch up pretty bad. 70 Grains gave me a perfect burn according to the recovered patch and the accuracy was a nice large cloverleaf group at 50. I was hoping to get good performance with full power loads, you never know when one of us crazy front loaders may pack one of these things for Bear You know our season is only 2 weeks away
