Anyone have a rifle chambered in this round and what are your thoughts? I have a commercial Mauser action,a Shilen 6.5 bull barrel, and a Bell and Carlson stock that I believe would make a very nice rifle.

I`ve a 1999 Montana action with one of their barrels chambered for the 6.5x284.

Personally if I was to do it all over again I`d stick with a 6.5 Swede, Improved form if I wanted a little more zip. The Swede and 260 Rem are only ~ 100 fps behind the 6.5x284 with same wgt bullets and pressures, plus brass is much less expensive and easier to find. That said there is such a thing as "want" and I understand it very well....

I have a remington 700 rebarreled with a 28" Douglas #5 with a 1-8 twist. It's the ultimate for long range shooting. (over 500 yards) My gun is super accurate with any 140g bullet but you need a long barrel to get the velocity out of it. If you're looking at normal range shooting, there are as good calibers.
