I agree if to dissagree. If you don't think one shot will put the animal down. Then no shots should be tskn.
If your shooting a caliber appropriately to put an elk down recoil will most likly. Mean you'll have to recover before a second shot is taken. You must struck a nerve because now that little voice in my head is Tsongas me you've most likly never killed and possibly never hunted elk.
