buckhunter,
I am happy with my DCM Garand I got in 1981 for $117.50. DCM is now the CMP and the prices for Very Good Garands are near a grand. As Bruce Canfield points out in his Garand book, most Garands went through at least one rebuild. My 3-million serial number DCM Garand has a new barrel dated 1967. I assume it was a Vietnam era rebuild. CMP guarantees rifles "Safe to shoot", or at least that is what my 1981 paperwork says. Adam
