HSM ammo is made in Montana and a guy was selling a lot of that brand at the gun show..his prices were a little higher..but no shipping. Since I load all my own I didn't buy any..I did buy 500 rounds of Federal 9mm FMJs at the show for me and a friend..it was 7.49 per box by the 500 round case..but it was at a different sellers table. I have gotten a few boxes of the HSM ammo in the past and it seems to work fine. I did get a couple of neat items in a mess of reloading items.2 Lee loaders..one was in 410 and the other in 45-70.. Sold 'em both quickly though.

G.O.B., Why not just buy one box of factory ammo for pressure measurements and then buy bulk brass for the reloads?
When I bought my last .270, I bought one box of 150 gr. Winchester Power Point ammo, test fired the gun and and measure case head and pressure ring expansion. Then I bought 200 rounds of Winchester bulk brass and worked up the reload I wanted with the 150 gr. Sierra Game King. The only factory ammo my guns get is that first box when I buy the gun for the pressure testing. After that, it's bulk brass and handloads for as long as I have that rifle or handgun. If things don't work out, yo can always sell off he gun and components. Seems like a win win siruation to me. ![]() Paul B. |
