Gil,

Duly noted you never mentioned prices, so why did you "Open the Bidding?" If I was writing a novel, I would skip this chapter and made it a mystery, eh, wot? LOL!

I paid fair market value of $2,000 for my truck load of stuff. I am still sorting and have much stuff to make into sporters. All M98 actions are Matching as is the nice M24 FN action that will become a 7X57MM sporter.

Sounds like you did OK

If you plan to make those rifles and actions into sporters, you will just need to find a competent gunsmith. All the best...

Gil,

There is a very competent gunsmith in Wellsboro and another just over the hill from my farm. The local rebarreled a M1903 Mark1 last year. He also is an expert on M98 actions.
