.270 recoil question

I am about to buy a new deer rifle and don't have the luxury of trying out any of the potential calibers I am considering so I thought I would get some opinions from you guys. How do most of you feel about the recoil in a 270? Do any of you feel that the recoil is tough to deal with and prefer a smaller caliber or am I worrying about nothing? I am a good sized guy but am now in my 50s and hate to get shook around too much. Should I consider acquiring a .270? Thanks...
