Congratulations, Fabs! What a beautiful family! I'm so happy to hear that all is well.

Yep, being a father is a pretty cool thing, huh?!

Again, congrats!

Mil Dot,

I am well aware of the fact that her birth stone is a diamond. My wife got a set of diamond earrings as her "push present". That is the first I have ever heard of a push present, but my friends have been telling me that this is how it is supposed to be. Thing is, neither my dad nor my father in-law have ever heard of a push present. I think this is something that was started by the jewelry industry. My wife has enough money in diamonds that we could buy a nice new car, but I guess that is the way it goes. She could say the same thing about my bicycles.

Last night was a lot better than the night before. The night before Arianna cried forever and I was up forever trying to calm her down. Last night, it only happened a couple of times. During the day, she is just fine. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Now...I noticed you said she aint cried yet...lol...now is the peaceful time. All they do is sleep...eat and sleep.

Right now, I am so happy that it is insane. I wouldn't change anything and I look forward to every change in life that comes along.
Now..I got the biggest kick outta that. Not bein cynical here ner nuthin Fabs...but you wait ....oooohhhh yeah...terrible 2's. Jess is 3 and shes still in the terrible 2's.
Kids will drive you plum insane..but you'll love em nevertheless.
I caint wait the day Fabs hears those famous words...." LOOK Daddy...my poop is green!"
lmao....congrats to you and the mrs.

PS. She might like bein wrapped tight in blankets. Next time she is fussy at night...try it. Newborns ain't used to havin all that room ya know...sometimes they miss it in there...esp bein close to mama all the time.
I used to take warm (not hot now mind you) blankets out of the dryer and wrap Jessica in em...she loved it.

lilred,

Thanks for the advice. We have tried a swaddling blanket at night, but that didn't do much good. During the day, we can keep her in her car seat in the house and she is fine with that, so we tried it last night but it didn't do any good. However, she was better last night than the night before. We actually got some sleep last night.

With all that said, I might try the warm blanket tonight if we have a problem.

You are talking about the terrible 2's, and my dad was talking about the terrible teens tonight. So, exactly when are kids at a good age? Life is what you make of it. Nothing is ever perfect. I had a rough night last night and a rough start to my morning, but I kept my chin up and the rest of the day turned out pretty well. Life is what you make of it, and kids are what you make of them. Nothing good comes easy.

She slept for 5 hours straight last night, and then 3 hours straight after that. I am finally able to be coherent enough during the day to get some work done.

Huntingvet,

Each day is a blast. She makes some cute face or she stretches some weird way that only makes me wish I had a video camera rolling at the time.

Thank God the baby looks like Mama. Its a trip being a father for the first time. I found out I really didn't know squat when my first arrived. I was paranoid about everything. Is it too hot is it too cold. Turn the heat up turn it down. Get the sun out of her eyes. That diaper is too wet. On and on. We'll it got easier with the second. You'll change my friend again and again. Just roll with it and don't take it too seroiusly. We all have been thru it and our kids survived and so will yours.

Way to go.

Dale

Fabs, I just came x this post...wish you and yours the very best. Enjoy because they do grow like wild weeds in the yard...next thing you know you have to give them away in a wedding...but just remember they well forever be daddy's little girl....I use to tell every boy that came to visit them that they are in charge of the most priceless thing I own so they better take care of her...seemed to work....one guys mother that I happened to know back in our childhood days told her son this when she found out her son was seeing my daughter....Her dad is a big hunter and when you see all those game mounts on his wall just remember he has one plaque with your name on it....so you best behave.....These words stuck in his mind forever...he no longer dates my kid but we are still friends...his wife and family, my daughter, her new hubby etc....so I gave him the plaque to have for his new born daughter.....lol......the name you choose is my niece's name too...hard to remember at first....but is nice...congrats and best to all.....Skeeter and family.

Fabs, sorry for the belated congrats. I haven't been around for a while.

Good to see a happy family.

From the pics I can say this, though.

You can tell your daughter got her good looks from you....... Her mother still has her's.

From a series of 7 experiences, it will be long before 13 years when the dumbness thing sets in.
