Never had one very long. Had a 45 auto that was done to..looked good but sold it fairly quickly. It was a Military gun and was fairly tight. Maybe the nickle job did that??

If you ever owned an early TC Contender (silver soldered front sight) you had a black chrome /nickel barrel. That was the finish on the early barrels. The reason TC stopped using it, it was expensive, the re-dos were numerous and it did not wear well, especially at the frame / barrel contact area.

You might want to go here and read about chrome; http://www.apwcogan.com/plating-and-...-finishes.html On my competition IPSC handguns I use satin chrome, done by Bob. He has built several of my race guns and does a good job at building and finishing. Ed

I have 3 shotguns that are either black nickel or black chrome. Two I've had for at least 6 years and the finish is like new and have seen some hard use in adverse conditions. All three are Hugus, two are from CZ.

My Uggie is blued, but it's from the 60s or early 70s. Great shotgun whatever the finish is, on close inspection it's blued. They are one of the best finds on the used markey.

Yes, good gun for the money and they are making OEM guns for others, to their specs., with the "others" names stamped on. One of my customers was an authorized repair facility for them. Historically they have had one repetitive problem, depending on when the gun was made, soft firing pins and hammers, easy to check, just pull the plates or action and look at the point where the two parts make contact, if braded, they need to be replaced or dressed and heat treated. It is an easy check, easy fix and mostly covered by warranty.

My son went through the factory in Turkey on one of his six trips to the country and sent me a factory color catalog, the top of the line guns are very gorgeous, metal and wood. The guys that knew anything about guns were shipping them back Ed
