Cybertec or Magnatec?

The archery shop called and asked if I wanted to shoot co-op again. I said no, but after 20 minutes of my husband badgering me, I called back and said, ok.

Now, I have to make a decision. Cybertec or Magnatec? I want the longer bow for 3D shooting, but I'm out of the loop on the new bows. Any suggestions?

i would definately pick the cybertec with either the xt2000 or xt3000 limbs. i dont care for the way the magnatec shoots.
are they offering you a new hoyt with the cam & 1/2 on it? or a last year model with the versacam?

They are offering the new cam and 1/2. What is the big deal about it? The shop also said they did away with the command cam.

My havotec has the excel cam. I love it, except that I cannot aadjust the draw length. I would really like to use a string loop because of the benefits it provides.

I'm thinking of this set up:
xt2000 limbs
cam ?
drop away rest
no peep sight by Timberline Archery
scope
string loop
donkier stablizer and maybe some other vibration reducers

What do you think?

sounds good. not to sure about using the no peep with a scope though. id just opt for a lense housing with a level in it. as far as other cams go for hoyt there are none. they are all the cam & 1/2 system. there are some slight variations between a few of them but not much. ive shot the new system and it is really smooth and fairly fast. very adjustable for draw length. nice solid wall. just a good solid piece of equipment.

so i take it you are going to shoot "freestyle" division now?

If I go with a scope, I'd have to shoot "freestyle". Down here we call it open class.

That No-Peep looks really neat. Check it out at :
Timberline Archery. There is a link on the left under products.
Thanks for your help.

if you choose not to go with a scope id recommend a Spot Hogg Hogg It sight or their Real Deal sight. they are the best pin sights on the market. you can check em out at www.spot-hogg.com under the "products" link.

have you choosen what power of scope lense you are going to use yet?

I'm still not sold out on using a scope. I think it would be nice to see the rings while I shoot, but it also seems to me that the 12 rings are always in the same area. When I shoot now, I try to aim for a shadow that points to the 12 ring. The problem is not every target has a shadow.

What scope would you recommend?

You shoot IBO, don't you? I think I'm going to try to get into IBO this year. I'm worried that the new cam and 1/2 may exceed legal speed limits. They say some shooters have been getting 330 fps on them. I know I won't reach that speed, but the women's limit is lower. I guess I'll have to chronograph it.

I appreciate your advice.

dont worry about the speed. you wont exceed it with a short draw and low poundage. i shoot 70# at 27" and only get 272fps which is screaming for that short of a draw.

of the scopes that i have ever looked at i like the super d scopes. they are larger than most but i like that. combine that with a sur loc sight and it would be a great combo.

i dont shoot ibo. not any shoot for ibo anywhere close here. but we have NFAA and alot of other local shoots around here.
