Suppose you could go back for day to a prior era and buy some surplus military arms, what would you select as your top three choices? Without a doubt, knowing what I know now about the current surplus arms market, I would buy as many 1941 Johnson semi-automatic .30-06 rifles, broomhandle Mauser pistols in 7.63mm and 9mm and .30/40 Krags (rifles and carbines) as I could. That would do it for me. What are your thoughts? All the best...

I would buy all the Webley&Scott (British) revolvers I could carry in mint condition for less than $15 each. I would grab up all the Lugers and Broomhandles in mint condition for $30 to $40 each with holsters and matching mags and sit on that thar gold mine. Ok, I met the three gun limit. If I could go to 6 I would add Garands for $60 to $80 each, Persian Mausers for $35 each and .45/70 trapdoors that were in the $30 range for rifles and $40 for carbines. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

That is a tough one because if it were for personal use I would go back to a time that I could,... of Should of,.... would of,.... bought a bunch of Gov't 1911 .45's when the Military switched to Berettas.

If it were for making a profit, AND person use I think I would go back to a time that you could buy the Thompson "Tommy Gun" without a Class III lisence and a large bank note.:D

I'd like a good M98 German mint mauser. I have one, but it has seen better days. Of course I'd like another M96 Swedish mauser in 6.5x55. You can never have too much of a good thing.
What I've always wanted was a 1903 A3 Springfield. I'll have one yet. Best wishes.
