where's a good source for sporting stocks for the mosin carbine? i came by one that's in wonderfrul condition but the stock was rotted from oil damage from the years.

Don,

If the stock was damaged from oil in past years, why did you buy it? Did you get the Mosin Carbine for less money due to the rotten stock? Enough to buy a replacement stock?

it was given to me...a carbine and a '93 with the imperial eagle and date 1917 were given me...

Don,

Many serious collectors do, from time to time, buy "beaters" for cheap money as parts guns. At yard sales I have bought military arms in poor to fair condition for $20-$30 specifically for parts guns.
