Scouting
I always try to get into the woods as often as possible this time of year.
Yesterday, I was out in one of the National Forests near here, looking for deer sign. Twice, I walked up on groups of deer. Looks like a good year for fawns. I also saw what I am SURE is the same 8 pt that eluded me last season. He was in velvet, and quite a sight. Knowing where they feed, water, and bed sure cuts the odds when hunting season begins.
