Very good handgun. Originally when brought out was called the "NeW York State Police" model, as the wanted the heavy barrel. Years ago carried one that shot to point of aim at 25 yds. with Rem. 158 lead round nose. That was the standard law enforcement load for the 38 sp. I really enjoyed that revolver, should look for another one. Congradulations.

My Brother in Law carried one just like it in the FBI in 1972. The load was a 158 grain RN.
Later they moved on to a 158 grain LSWC, and then a 158 grain LSWC HP. Next he got a Model 13 with the FBI 2.5 inch barrel. He used the .38 ammo. He said they could carry .357 ammo in their dump pouch, but not in the gun. Go figure.
