The rows closest are the edge rows & where the doe is standing is a little water damaged, I don't remember what the exact date was when I took the pic but, around here they usually plant the beans in rows 15-30" apart or they drill them.
I'm thinking I took that pic fairly early from the looks of it.. once the beans reach maturity they are usually waist high & all you can see of the deer then is their neck & head & you can no longer see the rows. The deer will feed on beans from the time they pop-up till they start to dry, then, they feed on corn. Most of the ditches & some or the fields have clover growing in them & the deer hit them from spring threw to late fall. I know several hunters that plant Imperial Whitetail Clover, 30-06, Alfa-Rack ect, there is one guy who leaves several rows of beans & corn stand just for the deer. We don't own any of the property we hunt so we can't grow anything to attract them but, were right between the guys that do & are growing all of the big bucks. ![]() Later, Phil B. ________ Vapir no2 Last edited by sniperp1; 02-22-2011 at 03:43 PM. |
