once you've decided on a scope let me talk you into a lens shade.
These are extruded rubber and are sized to fit scopes of every size(binos and spotting scopes as well) easily removable and soft so you can stuff them in a pocket on your pack or in your jacket.

I had a friend really torque his scope good by jarring the optic lens end from the extra length created by a hard screw-in shade.
