Kind of strange if the first 2 reloadings were fine. Did you change any die setting after the second reloading? May be something there?
All your force needed at the beginning of the down (case) stroke or at the end? During case prep, chuck up a nylon brush and give the inside of the neck a good brushing. Shouldn't need any lube then. I hate lube on the neck as over a long shelf live it will get down into the powder. Be careful that the expander ball is far enough down that it isn't too close to the neck and causing a bind as the case is pulled down. This is highly improbable if it is decapping ok..... ![]() Don't lower the expander too far as it may touch the base and cause other grief. Thick necks wouldn't cause the problem, even if the necks were twice as thick as normal. Also if after firing you can't insert a bullet into the case mouth, trimming will be necessary. Though I doubt that the 7 rum would grow that much is so few rounds. Other than that, you may wish to move up to at least a 375 H&H, that way you may be able to "harvest" something. ![]() ![]() Let us know whatcha find out.
