TreeDoc, for the most part i have always had the same oppinion in regerds to ported choke tubes but that has changed ever so slightly this past fall. i have an O/U i want to use for turkeys this year (taking it out tomorrow actualy) and bought a c-n-c choke for it. i had that choke in one barrel and a standard x-full in another and patterned it this fall using 3" winchesters turkey loads (#5). anyway i shot the turkey choke barrel first, then i shot the other target with the other barrel that had a std. (non ported) x-full choke in it. now this O/U is a light gun and these big loads realy bite. but there was a noticeable differance between the two, and shooting them that close apart (time frame) it became apparent. so now i will say that some of them may very well help you out. not a ton, but will take the edge off. for what it is worth.
