I've never owned or fired a 760, or 7600, but I did research them pretty thoroughly a while back.

They have an enviable reputation for accuracy. They are said to be on a par with a good bolt action.

The downside is that they are about a pound heavier than something like a BLR, which is also accurate, and also allows quick follow-up shots.

When you operate the pump, you are pulling straight back, pushing the butt of the rifle into your shoulder. When you operate a lever action, you are pulling the butt down and away. So I think the pump action is probably more ergonomic than the lever.
