6mm Remington.. Varmint or Deer?

I have both of these calibers and like them both. One problem common to both is if you're hunting woodchuck in an area that has livestock. They are both quite loud and probably will not endear you to friend farmer. Something smaller and not quite so loud would probably be a better choice for smaller game. Just one mans opinion.
