I have several clients with employees just like Jabba referred to. The problem that they have is that they cannot find anybody else and they pay these guys between $10 and $15 an hour.

Personally, I think there are great places in America where manual laborers are needed. Hell, I make just as much money as an attorney/CPA as my brother does as a body man. However, he works smack dab in the middle of the city and it takes him over 30 minutes to drive 10 miles to work.

There are plenty of oppotunities in the USA, but there are also small towns that are dying because they don't have much to offer or many people at all. Look at all the ghost towns left by miners out in the west. If you were living in one of these places as it was declining, you were SOL. I am sure that towns like that exist today. I am fortunate in that I live close to DC and there is a ton of federal money around here. Then again, it also creates a huge demand on housing and I have to pay that price when looking for a house.

Gas also went down 14 cents here over the past couple of days. The oil companies might just be probing to see what the demand will be if they increase prices.
