I take from what you say that you a fairly new to reloading, so will preface my remarks by saying if you have any doubts about putting in more powder DO NOT DO IT.
When working up loads that are to be at or near max. loads you should always do it on the hottest day that any of those loads will be used. Presure goes up as temp goes up. I have had several guns that are at their best accuracy with max. loads. I have had gun that shot their best with compressed loads, 1 with very compressed loads. Each barrel is different, some are at their best with hot loads and others with very lite loads.
