One of the first turkey calls was made from the wing bones of a hen turkey.
I have made a couple and have a nice one my son gave me for Christmas. It has two wing bones with a drilled out piece of deer antler for the bell end.
The call is sucked to get a yelp. I can get a yelp some times but most of the time they sound l nothing like a turkey. I keep mine on the shelf with a few collectible calls so i don't take them to the woods and scare the heck out of a turkey.
You have to make sure you have all of the marrow cleaned out of the bones before you suck on them. I didn't and sucked a piece of marrow into my lung. It took a long time for the irritating tickle to go away.
