Im guessing you didnt get a pig since you didnt post back but I wanted to add my 2 cents here.

A hogs vitals are much further forward and lower than a deers vitals. Hitting just behind the shoulder is putting your arrow at the back end of the vitals. A preferred shot is tight to the shoulder/ leg 2/3 down from the backline with an intended exit just in front of the opposing leg. That will buy you bottom of the lungs and heart everytime and avoid all shield and shoulder blade/bone issues.
