Hello IS3, Boar have a mind of their own and go where they want when they want, however, you can increase your chances, especially in winter, by putting some corn out in the same spot every day. I'm not sure if you've got ferals or some strain, so they may go mostly nocturnal, unless the area is quiet and they're undisturbed. In the fall w/good acorn mast they will wander where the best food is in the most undisturbed area. Are you talking only bow, or shotgun w/slug? I think I remember you're downstate (saw Clinton Township on your shirt!), so it'd probably be shotgun w/slug. Forget buckshot. But if you can use rifle you can't go wrong with a 30-06 and 180 grainers. I wouldn't go any lighter than a .270, of course, pigs come in all sizes, so you could go lighter with small ferals.

BTW, can you hunt them at night? If so, that is by far much easier in winter with snow cover and a quality scope.
