Hi There,

Well I am not sure of the accuracy of some of the comments posted here about the Parker-Hale's. However from the catalogue and fliers I have dating from 1973 and 1984 I can say that yes P-H did offer several different models and my 1200 Supers do have Spanish actions but as to the fact that they offered different models ot different markets ? I don't think so. The 1200 super was styled for the American market sure but the same model was sold here in the UK and in Australia.

P-H brought stock wood from Sile in Italy and made the barrels finished the actions blacked them and stocked them at Golden Hillock Road in Birmingham England.

Now during a couple of periods when the company was beign taken over their quality did slip some but I cannot agree that they are inferior to the Cz-Brno and yes I have two Brnos to compare my 4 Parker Hales too . The Brno's are a model 601 in .308 and a No2 in .22 rimfire. The P-H's are :-

1200 Super 7.92mm made in 1988
1200V 6mm rem
1100 Deluxe .30 Springfield
1100M .458 win mag.

I am currently trying to work out a trade for a 1200 which was sent to Rigby's for finishing by P-H, this is a .270 Win chambered rifle, P-H did this to offer anthoer level of finish they also made a 1200P (Presentation) which is engraved and had better figured wood.

The model which seems to cause most confusion is the Safari, although I have seen them advertised in the Gun Magazine for sale I have yet to see and handle one which is confirmed by P-H literature as a Safari. I was told by at least 3 different dealers and one who worked at P-H that my 1100 Deluxe was Lightweigh Model, Safari and the other slips my mind just now, however at a Gun show at Bisley Camp last march I picked up the No 73 catalogue with prie list from June 1973 and it has a photo of my rifle and labels it as an 1100 Deluxe. So now unless I can confirm it through P-H printed matter I am vary of these designations applied by others.

Now to choose between them ........................... well I would take the one which feels the bst to you when you shoulder it providing of course that all else is equal. Oh one thing to remember is that the P-H 1200 has a Timney type adjustable trigger which is adjustable for travel, creep and weight of pull
