Well I still haven't shot the darn thing. After seeing what Gil and Adam have posted I had to make sure mine was a M38 and not M91 91/30 or a M44,
As per this Link http://www.surplusrifle.com/mosincarbine/index.asp Mine is indeed a M38, it is the carbine without the bayoney or the integral Bayonet lug. Not really knowing what I was buying I guess I made the better selection of the two becaus the Dealer was also selling the M44 with the Bayonets on them for $119 right beside the M38's I got my M38 for right at $100 after a little negotiating and Sales tax
