hunting GPS?

I was shopping for one last year. I wanted the same things your looking for. I told the sales people at several sporting goods stores what I wanted and they all told me the same thing, Lowrance. This surprised me a lot since I was fully expecting them to say Garmin. I ended up buying the Lowrance HuntC with the topo map system. It does everything I want it to and quite a bit more. The main thing that sold me was I plan on using it for fishing and Lowrance has excellent software for lake maps in my state. It runs on 2 AA batteries and it works as well as I hoped.
